These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ChatGuard (the "App"), a mobile application developed and published by LinksGroups Engine ("we", "our", "us"). By installing, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately uninstall and stop using the App.
ChatGuard is an Android utility application that uses Android's Notification Listener API to capture notifications from messaging apps selected by the user, enabling recovery of deleted messages, status saving, and media backup. All captured data is stored locally on the user's device.
ChatGuard is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Telegram, Meta, Instagram, Signal, or any other third-party messaging platform referenced in the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use ChatGuard. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
ChatGuard is available for use on Android devices running Android 8.0 (API level 26) or higher.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

You agree not to use ChatGuard to:
⚠️ Important: Using ChatGuard to monitor another person's device or communications without their explicit, informed consent is strictly prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the App complies with all applicable laws.
ChatGuard requires certain Android permissions to function. By granting these permissions, you confirm that you understand their purpose and consent to their use as described in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you are the owner or authorised user of the device on which you grant this permission. You acknowledge that ChatGuard will use this permission to read notification content from the messaging apps you explicitly select.
You confirm that you have the right to access and back up the media files that ChatGuard may copy from your device's storage.
You are solely responsible for how you use the data captured by ChatGuard. We accept no liability for any consequences arising from your use of the captured data.
ChatGuard offers optional premium subscriptions ("ChatGuard Premium") that unlock additional features and remove advertisements. Subscription pricing and plans are displayed within the App and on the Google Play Store.
All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's Terms of Service. We do not store your payment information.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings.
Refund requests are handled according to Google Play's refund policy. We do not directly process refunds. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Google Play support or email us at info@linksgroups.com and we will assist where possible.
We reserve the right to modify premium features at any time. We will endeavour to notify subscribers of significant changes via in-app notification.
The App, including its design, code, graphics, feature set, and all related intellectual property, is owned by LinksGroups Engine and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. All rights are reserved.
All third-party app names, logos, and trademarks referenced in ChatGuard (WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, etc.) are the property of their respective owners. Their mention does not imply affiliation with or endorsement of ChatGuard.
You retain ownership of all data you create or capture using ChatGuard. You grant us no rights over your captured messages or media.
ChatGuard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that:
Message capture depends on Android's Notification API, which is subject to change by Google or device manufacturers. We cannot guarantee continued functionality if the underlying Android API changes.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LinksGroups Engine and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid for ChatGuard Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £10 (ten pounds sterling), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
ChatGuard integrates with third-party services including Google AdMob, Firebase, and Google Play Billing. Your use of these services is governed by the respective third parties' terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
The App may also display links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, if we believe you have violated these Terms.
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling the App will remove your local database from the device.
Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimer), 10 (Limitation of Liability), and 14 (Governing Law) shall survive any termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the App. Your continued use of ChatGuard after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or another jurisdiction that provides mandatory consumer protections, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
